Camp Location

The Land-Opvoedings-Gesticht (LOG – government reformatory school) for youths was in the eastern part of the city, on Daendelsweg. The LOG was a juvenile detention center, housed in a building surrounded by walls topped with broken glass.
In early 1942, POWs were detained here. From July 1942 to April 1944, civilian men and older boys were interned here (the men’s camp). In April 1945, POWs were again held here. Only the men’s camp period is described below.
